Work Opportunities for Indigenous People and Organizations

LEIP Eligibility for Indigenous Groups / Individuals

LEIP’s partner-vetting process involves a sit-down meeting in which LEIP’s advocacy staff discuss the goals of the interested party and how they can align with LEIP’s mission - partnering large businesses and Indigenous groups for the benefit of both parties.

LEIP Benefits

Job Fairs

Our team of logistics professionals visits remote communities to speak with indigenous adults about jobs in the logistics field. We present about current projects coming through the LEIP pipeline and about our own careers to spread the word about how lucrative and expansive the discipline can be. We use these visits for recruitment and to enrich our connections with the communities in which we do business.

To be eligible for LEIP partnership, you or your business MUST:

  • Be an indigenous individual (belongs to a tribe, group, or organization designating them as such)

  • Be a business that is at least 51% owned, controlled, operated, or managed by Indigenous people

  • Be interested in contracting with businesses for work and contracting opportunities that will bring funding to you or your group

Work Opportunities

We offer a convenient link between small indigenous groups or individual contractors and the large multinational companies with whom we partner. We preferentially partner with and employ indigenous people and companies to bring indigenous knowledge of the land and customs to the forefront of all of our contracts. We work hand in hand with indigenous groups to find job opportunities for their members as well as income streams for their organizations by providing them with training, support, and the connections to accept work that may otherwise be directed to other large contractors.

CITC Partnership Program

In partnership with Cook Inlet Tribal Council, Naniq preferentially employs indigenous people from rural areas and offers on-the-job training for these employees in all of Naniq’s departments. Upon hire, Naniq comits to 6 months of steady, fulltime employment for each individual and attempts to expose these employees to all aspects of the logistics business. The employee is given clear performance reviews with the goal of aiding their employability and expanding their skill set. If at the end of the 6-month training period, the employee and Naniq find the position to be a good fit, the employee is offfered a permanent position as part of the Naniq family.

The purpose of this collaboration is to increase the professional development of Alaska Natives/American Indians and their families.
